Harvard University's Ivy School has filed a lawsuit against the Trump government in the Boston Federal Court. Under this, the Trump administration's decision to cancel the admission of international students has been described as a "clear violation" of the First Amendment of the US Constitution and other federal laws. Harvard University has said in its complaint that the Trump government's decision has had an immediate and devastating effect on more than 7,000 visa holders.
The complaint further stated that a decision by the Trump government has tried to influence about a quarter of the student class of Harvard University, who are international students and play an important role in the academic vision and goal of the university. Harvard further said that it plans to opt for a temporary retraining order to prevent the Department of Homeland Security from implementing this move.
The Donald Trump administration had earlier suspended the enrollment of international students at Harvard University under the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). The Department of Homeland Security announced this on Thursday.
The Harvard University was accused of allowing anti -American and pro -terrorism demonstrations in his premises, including attacks on Jewish students. The US Homeland Department also accused Howard University of coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party, saying the school hosted and trained members of a Chinese paramilitary group as recently as 2024.
The decision of the Trump government of America to cancel the enrollment of international students of Harvard University has affected more than 7 thousand foreign students. Under the order, such foreign students will have to transfer themselves from Harvard to another university within 72 hours or lose their legal status. On the other hand, students who are in their final year will be able to complete their studies. But now it is believed that foreign students may get some relief after the matter reaches the court.
